Margo Vickers (YWP Board Chair)  

Margot Vickers currently serves on the senior financial management team at Howard University. Prior to joining Howard, Margo worked for the Government of the District of Columbia in several capacities and as a consultant with a non-profit environmental firm. 

Margo is a graduate of Purchase College in NY with a Master's in Economics from the University of Maryland. She is a member of the NAACP and the National Association for College and University Business Officers. She also serves on the board and is treasurer of the Young Playwrights' Theater, a six-year-old non-profit organization that teaches young people how to write plays.

Lynn Parseghian

Lynn Parseghian is an attorney at Crowell & Moring LLP, specializing in complex litigation.  Lynn has been active in advancing the rights of women and girls.  She has provided pro bono legal counsel to the National Women's Law Center and the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund.  She also represents the Corcoran Gallery of Art/College of Art & Design.  Lynn received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Amy Kincaid  

Amy Kinkaid is founder and principal consultant for Change Matters: Strategic Support for Growing Organizations where she provides technical assistance to nonprofit directors and boards, specializing in fund-raising, management, and capacity-building, board training, and transition. Before starting Change matters, Amy served as the executive director for ACCESS: Networking in the Public Interest, a national clearinghouse on careers in the non-profit sector.  

Previously, Amy served as an Eisenhower Fellow in Non-Profit Management in Prague, Czech Republic, as development director for the International Research & Exchanges Board, and as a program officer for the International Foundation. Amy received her BA in political science from the George Washington University and also studied journalism at the University of Kansas. She is a member of the Independent Sector Emerging Leaders Committee, a founding Board Members of VOICE International.

April Copes 

April Copes is a teacher and community service liaison at Cardozo Senior High School in Washington, DC. As a teacher, April focuses on a range of subjects including multicultural literature, public speaking, US history, geography, and critical reading. As community liaison she arranges student career placements, coordinates workshops, seminars, luncheons, ceremonies and other events.

She also builds relationships with community organizations and government agencies. As scholarship chairperson April advises groups and individuals on preparing scholarship applications, manages scholarship financial accounts, and serves as a liaison for colleges and universities. April received a Masters of Education in Reading from Howard University and a BS in speech communication from Syracuse University.  

Sheila R. Strain, LICSW

Sheila R. Strain is a Sales Associate with RE/MAX Allegiance, as well as Division Director for United Planning Organization in DC. As a board member, Ms. Strain supports the work of YWP. Ms. Strain received her BS degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and went on to earn a Masters in Social Work at Howard University in 1998. She received her Real Estate certification in 2004 with the University of Long and Foster. 

Her extensive community involvement includes leadership roles on several councils and community organizations in DC, including Community Resource Coordinator with the People Involvement Corporation; a Project Coordinator with George Washington University; as well as Kids House Coordinator with the Urban Family Institute. More recently, she served as Assistant Director with the North Capital Collaborative, and Executive Director of the Northwest Church Family Network, where she served for five years.

Nadia Moritz is the founding executive director of the YWP.
