Summer Update!

This summer, over 30 youth are researching, training, surverying and campaigning, right here at YWP!

The PHASE team (peer health and sexuality education), which consists of 14 teen women, are getting prepared to become trainers in Reproductive Health education and policy. With this education and training the young women be able to creatively engage their peers in an attempt to spread awareness, encourage female empowerment and support self and youth advocacy locally.
The Foster Care Campaign team is researching three main topics that directly affect youth transitioning out of care: Permanency, Education, and Safety Net services. The youth are investigating best practices, models, dc programs, and themselves, in an effort to figure out
what works when it comes to older youth programming. We are also working on a play, doing writing projects, and participating in community service activities with Anacostia Watershed Society. Check back for updates!
